Moods cigar brands are available in and outside the EU
At almost every store in the Netherlands, the cigars from Moods are available. Many tobacconist stores outside the Netherlands have the Moods cigarillos stocked.
The cigars of Ritmeester Moods are very popular.
The Ritmeester brand has its origins in Veenendaal, the Netherlands. In the early 1970s there was a crisis in the cigar industry. Growing attention to the health risks of tobacco, while focused on cigarettes, initially had a much stronger effect on cigar consumption. When the bolknak was introduced, the dam was closed and the company grew to more than 1,400 employees. The cigar quickly became a status symbol among pastors, doctors, teachers, notaries and directors. The representatives experienced golden times. A story from the tradition reports that some representatives no longer went to the cigar shops to take the orders, but that they took a seat in a hotel and had the buyers come there!. Later Ritmeester was taken over by a Swiss company.
Most Moods cigarillo's are hard to find because of restrictions.
There seemed to be no end to the growth. Other cigar factories were taken over. The takeover of Oud Kampen was the most famous. The 2 locations in Veenendaal were also not sufficient to meet the demand. So in 1954 a location was opened in Didam, in 1964 in Kesteren and in 1970 in Rijkevorsel Belgium. Higher taxes, more expensive tobacco imports, rising wage costs, the changing image of the cigar smoker, and the smoking of cheaper cigarettes marked the end of Ritmeester.
Moods Cigarillos and other flavored cigarillos from the same brand are made from Sumatra, Java, Vorstenlanden tobacco with divers wrappers. Ritmeester has since them abandoned the well-known Bolknak cigars that were produced when the factory was still in Veenendaal. From Den Bosch they now distribute the Moods in the dark red box and also the El Capone cigars. Moods has once again made a name for itself in the tobacconist's shop. With and without filter, aromatic handy small cigarillo.
